What this covers

This page explains the cookies and similar browser storage that noneofthebad.com uses, what each one is for, and how to change your choice. "Cookies" here also covers similar tools, such as items a site keeps in your browser's storage. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information more generally.

Your choice

When you first visit, we ask before using anything that is not needed to run the site. You can choose "Accept all", "Reject all" or "Choose". Until you say yes, only essential storage is used. You can change your mind at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page, or here: . A change takes effect straight away. We keep your choice for 12 months, then ask again.

If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a no to analytics until you choose otherwise.

What we use

GroupWhat it doesWho sets itNeeds your yes?
EssentialKeeps you signed in; remembers your cart; counts the free scan allowance on this device and keeps the scan limits fair; remembers a tester invite you opened; remembers a referral link you followed until you create an account; remembers this cookie choice; and gives your browser a random visitor ID that Base44, the platform our site runs on, uses to handle requests from visitors who are not signed in.None of the Bad, on the Base44 platformNo — the site does not work without it
AnalyticsCounts page views, clicks and page speed, and shows us where the site breaks, so we can fix it.PostHog (United States region), and Base44's own app analyticsYes — off unless you turn it on

We use no advertising or marketing cookies, pixels or retargeting, and we do not record your screen or what you type.

If you are signed in and have said yes to analytics, PostHog also receives your account number (a random ID). It does not receive your name or email address.

The items, by name

Essential (browser storage on noneofthebad.com): your sign-in; a few settings that connect the site to its platform; the platform's random visitor ID (also used for analytics only if you say yes); a random device ID and a note of whether this device has used its free scan; a tester invite and its daily count, if you opened one; the cart; a referral link you followed, until you create an account; your cookie choice; and short-lived items that end when you close the tab.

Analytics, only after your yes: PostHog's own storage, holding a random device ID and a session ID, kept up to 1 year unless you clear it or say no.

Requests to other companies: when analytics is on, your browser sends page events to PostHog (us.i.posthog.com and us-assets.i.posthog.com). Some Shop pictures load from Unsplash (images.unsplash.com), which sees your browser's address the way any website does; it sets no cookie. If you choose "Continue with" Google, Microsoft, Facebook or Apple, that company's own cookies and policy apply on its sign-in page.

Some actions are counted on our server, whatever you choose: a scan being requested, an order, and a brand application and its decision. These counts carry no browser ID; for a signed-in person they carry the account number.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies and site storage in your browser's settings. If you block essential storage, signing in, the cart and the free scans may not work.

Changes to this policy

If what we use changes, we update this page and its effective date, and ask for your choice again where the change needs a new yes.
